A short uphill walk from the river Töss leads families to the ruins of Altlandenberg Castle, where centuries of history wait to be explored. Weathered walls and former gateways frame the site, while a 14-meter-deep well adds a little drama. Kids can roam the ruins, hunt for traces of former buildings and discover remains of the palas and curtain wall. The ancestral seat of the Lords of Landenberg dates back to at least the 12th century and was rebuilt several times.
Today, the plateau is an easygoing place to linger. Kids can play among the ruins, while benches and fire pits invite families to stop for a picnic. Beyond the old stonework, views stretch across the Töss Valley.
