Sports Hostel HängeMatt

Between Europe’s oldest game reserve, the Freiburg Kärpf, and the impressive Tectonic Arena Sardona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies the sports hostel HängeMatt. The family-run hostel warmly welcomes guests large and small. The six rooms, all with space for a crib, are lovingly and uniquely furnished – with local materials such as alluvial or fir wood and with upcycled products such as old skis.

The outdoorsy hostel is the perfect base not only for summer activities like hiking, climbing or a visit to the theme trail “Giant’s Forest”, but also in winter, with its own ski storage, nearby ski lifts and above all: sledding right in front of the door. And after an active day in the Glarus mountains, there is room to relax in the lounge with a billiard table and a reading / play corner. For refreshments, guests can prepare their own meals in the guest kitchen or partake of the breakfast and / or dinner choices offered.
