From the mountain village of Malbun, families hop on the chairlift and float up to Sareiserhöhe in just a few minutes. At around 2,000 meters, the views stretch across the Malbun Valley and the peaks of the Rätikon toward Austria and Switzerland. Right beside the upper station, Bergrestaurant Sareis is an easy place to linger over breakfast or lunch, settle into the cozy dining room or grab a table on the large sun terrace. Families can even stay overnight. Curious about the peaks on the horizon? A few steps away, Liechtenstein’s first 360-degree panorama board helps put names to the mountains all around.

Next, it’s time to hit the trail. Several easy routes start right at the upper station, including the family-friendly, 5.5-kilometer Swing Trail back to Malbun. Once down in the village, keen young hikers can keep going on another themed walk, whether solving clues on the Detective Trail, following the Alpherzweg or heading out on the Explorer Trail.
