Mountain Hotel Mettmen

The wildlife is most active early in the morning – and at the Berghotel Mettmen you have a front row seat. Watch the wild animals in their natural habitat from your room with binoculars. Just behind the hotel on the right-hand side is Europe’s oldest nature reserve with the Garichti reservoir. On the left-hand side, you have an unobstructed view of the valley and beyond.

After a hearty breakfast with a selection of regional products, you are ready for a day in the great outdoors. Alp Mettmen and the Kärpf game reserve are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona. Here you can gain fascinating insights into the formation of the Alps.

Spend fun-filled hours exploring, hiking, climbing or fishing (snowshoeing or ice fishing in winter) and then meet back at the hotel for a hearty and regional lunch or dinner. Later, end the day with a bit of wellness, playing cards or board games or drawing in the lounge.
