Winterthur’s industrial culture is over 200 years old and has left a lasting mark on Switzerland. The 20-km long bike trail starts at Winterthur railway station and soon leads to the old locomotive depot and the former large Haldengut brewery.

After a longer stretch, the bike fans reach the Reisemühle sawmill and the Hegi mill. The route continues past the Sulzer Areal, the nail factory, silk weaving mill, and numerous other former factory buildings. After the depot, the workers’ housing estates follow before you pass the Rieter area to Wülflingen, the listed Wespimühle mill and the Beugger and Hard spinning mills. From here, the path leads along the river Eulach back to Winterthur railway station.

A small tip: it is worth stopping at the individual locations and learning more about the exciting history of Winterthur’s industry. You can find all the stops here: Industry Bike Trail
