Zurich-Kloten Airport and the Glattal valley are among the original trend-setting regions for inline skaters. Years ago, the region around the military barracks was overrun by skaters at weekends. The airport company and the local municipalities have responded to the trend and created almost unequalled conditions for skaters: The route has a very smooth surface and is mostly separate from motorized traffic.

Zurich Airport is already one of the most popular excursion destinations in Switzerland. The vantage points around the airport site are ideal stopping places from which to watch the planes taking off and landing. The available parking lots are safe start and finish areas for skating tours.
