Bike Tour Gänglesee to Alp Valüna
Families looking for an easygoing ride will find a quiet escape in Liechtenstein’s Valüna Valley. Starting at Gänglesee reservoir, this gentle route leads to Alp Valüna through a landscape made for slowing down.
- Start: Parking lot at Gänglesee
- Destination: Alp Valüna
- Distance: Approx. 6 km
- Riding time: Approx. 45 minutes
- Traffic-free gravel road
- Fire pits along the route
- Local specialties at Alp Valüna
The Valünerbach sets the pace on this family-friendly bike ride. The clear mountain stream winds through the peaceful Valüna Valley as a traffic-free gravel road leads from Gänglesee reservoir to Alp Valüna with hardly any climbing. Along the way, children cool their feet in the water, build stone towers on the riverbank and gather around fire pits while sausages sizzle over the flames.
After around 30 to 45 minutes, Alp Valüna comes into view. Homemade alpine cheese, regional specialties and traditional snack platters make a rewarding stop before the easy ride back to Gänglesee. Families looking to explore farther can leave their bikes at the alp and continue on foot toward Rappenstein or Augstenberg. Experienced mountain bikers can also tackle more demanding routes, including the climb to Pfälzerhütte.
