Paint, make, move: Sternen Zauberei is a roomy nonprofit creative studio just steps from Winterthur train station. Wednesdays are family days, with kids spreading out paper, paints and craft materials, picking up new techniques or following their own ideas. Children aged six years and up can join on their own. When sitting still gets old, there’s a separate movement room with a large trampoline, soft balls and games. Parents can linger at the café tables with coffee, tea and cake while staying close to the action.
Families can also join the studio’s intergenerational sessions. Guided Creative Studio classes bring kids and adults together to paint, build and experiment, while the Open Studio and Intuitive Painting sessions leave more room for independent projects. On selected dates, the jewelry workshop adds metalwork and other materials to the mix. And unless another activity is taking place, the movement room stays open too.
