The Glarus region was industrialized extraordinarily early. Today, stately factory owners’ villas and historic factory buildings still bear witness to the flourishing of the Glarus textile industry in the 19th century. Industrial culture has remained important to this day. With the “Industrial Espionage” visitor program, young and old become “industrial spies” and are soon right in the thick of things: Glarus companies open their doors and provide an insight into their factories. Those hungry for knowledge will learn how fully automated production plants work or watch how the famous Glarus cheese is made in the world’s only Schabziger factory.
To ensure that the “espionage” runs smoothly, the “spies” must register online at least two days before the event. One exception is Geska, where registration must be received no later than the Sunday before the event. The number of visitors is limited. Exclusive tours for groups can be arranged directly with the companies.
