Niki de Saint Phalle’s colorful guardian angel hovers above the crowds at Zurich Main Station, marking the start of the adventure. Before long, the first puzzle is solved – and suddenly the city looks completely different. Families find themselves searching for animals and numbers on fountains, spotting hidden angels above doorways and stopping to admire buildings they would normally walk right past. Along the way, 36 puzzle stations reveal fascinating stories about Zurich’s history and most iconic landmarks. Every correct answer earns points, which are added together to reveal the final solution.
On the free Confiserie Bachmann Detective Trail, Zurich becomes one giant playground. The 4 to 4.5 km route leads families from Zurich Main Station along Bahnhofstrasse and through the winding streets of the Old Town, passing highlights such as Lindenhof, the Schanzengraben canal, Grossmünster and many other landmarks before finishing at Stadelhofen. Be successful at finding the right number and you’ll be rewarded with a sweet surprise at Confiserie Bachmann. It’s a fun way for young detectives aged 4 to 12 years to explore Zurich.
