What would Switzerland be without the mountains – dizzyingly high or just elevated enough to enjoy the sun above the clouds. Excursions to the heights are a popular activity for families with children, godmothers and godfathers, aunts and uncles, grandmothers and grandpas. In the Children’s Region there are several mountain destinations that offer fun, exciting and adventurous activities.

With the bubble lift, cable car or rack railway, families travel up to the top, where a wonderland surrounded by nature awaits adventurers and explorers big and small. From child-friendly hiking trails to forest playgrounds, adventure and theme trails to rope slides and toboggan runs. If you’re feeling hungry, head for one of the family-friendly restaurants, which often have playgrounds to keep the kids entertained, or to one of the many barbecue and picnic areas.
