Few things shift your perspective like pushing off from shore. Suddenly, the world becomes all reeds and reflections, mountain peaks shimmer on the water and even familiar places feel brand new. In the Kinderregion, the water turns into one big playground: families cruise across lakes in pedal boats with slides, balance on everything from kid-sized SUPs to giant SUPs for families or let the current carry them downstream in inflatable rafts. Some quietly paddle into hidden coves, others catch waves right in the city or hold on tight at the wakeboard park, while a few race through wild rapids in giant tubes with mountain views in every direction.

Whether you’re sailing, kayaking, surfing, wakeboarding with children or simply drifting along, water sports for families in Switzerland comes in all shapes and sizes and in the Kinderregion you can rent all the equipment you need – from kayaks on Lake Zürich and pedal boats on Lake Zug to SUPs on Lake Lucerne. One thing always comes first, though: safety. In Switzerland, children under 12 years of age are required to wear an appropriate life jacket with a collar on the water.
