Sattel Hochstuckli in Winter
Clear your head, race down the slopes, frolic in the snow or be enchanted by lantern lights – winter bliss awaits on Sattel-Hochstuckli.
- World’s first revolving gondola
- 6.5 km of ski and snowboard slopes
- Rondo’s Kinderland with children’s lift and magic carpet
- Ski school

- Lantern trail
- (Night) tobogganing
- Circular trail with scavenger hunt
- Restaurants and winter barbecue area
When the cities are dark and grey, winter reveals its glory on Mostelberg. Active families are spoiled for choice here. Children can learn to ski at Rondo’s Kinderland, with its magic carpet and children’s ski lift, or hone their skills on the Engelstock lift. Meanwhile, tobogganers can race down the 3.5-kilometer valley run. If hiking or snowshoeing is your thing, you can leave the hustle and bustle behind on scenic circular trails. Along the way, grill a sausage at an outdoor winter barbecue or stop for a warm drink or meal at a mountain restaurant. Consider staying after dark, too. During the winter season, Sattel-Hochstuckli is especially atmospheric on Saturday evenings. Then, 50 lanterns illuminate the 2-kilometre-long circuit over the Skywalk suspension bridge, one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in Europe.
Tip: If you want to get your children excited about winter hiking, combine the Skywalk Trail with the Rondo Treasure Hunt.
