Rondo's Puzzle Trail

On Rondo’s Puzzle Trail, kids solve tricky challenges, collect letters and help the mountain witch regain her powers.

Sattel Mostelberg (Bergstation)
  • Distance: 1.8 km
  • 8 interactive puzzle stations
  • “Skywalk” pedestrian suspension bridge
  • Picnic areas, playgrounds, and restaurants
  • Children under 6 ride the cable car for free
  • Stroller-friendly
  • Open year-round

How many purple flowers are there? How many blue marbles have fallen into the magic cauldron? Which path through the green maze leads to Sam and which key opens the lock? Along the way, kids puzzle things out, crack number games, match shadow shapes and sort through mixed-up letters. Every correct answer reveals a clue to the hiding place of the next gemstone.

When they reach the wooden boxes with the gemstones, eyes light up. Inside is the next letter to write on their puzzle card. Piece by piece, clever young detectives work their way to the secret magic word the wise mountain witch needs to regain her powers.

Together with Rondo, the Sattel-Hochstuckli mascot, and his friend Sam the salamander, families follow the 1.8-km suspension bridge loop. Along the trail, beyond the eight puzzle stations, there are picnic and grill areas, sun benches, playgrounds, mountain restaurants, and the “Skywalk” – one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in Europe. What starts as a short walk quickly turns into a full day out, before the world’s first rotating cable car carries everyone back down to the valley floor.
