What’s happened here, then? Grigi the dwarf king must have had too much of the fabled magic potion at the last dwarf feast and immediately forgotten his dwarf queen Gerde’s birthday! Now he needs help from his clever visitors and his dwarf friends.

The adventure begins at the mountain station Rigi Burgstein, which is easy to reach by cable car from Obergschwend. At the top, visitors can purchase the Dwarf Trail booklet (CHF 3), which accompanies quick-witted helpers along the way and is full of funny stories.

Visitors must then engage their brains, strength, and observation skills to solve puzzles at eight stations. Those who collect all the numbers will find out the secret birthday. The trail leads walkers through woods and meadows, with plenty of inviting barbecue spots for tasty pit stops along the way. Anyone who still has energy to burn after such a big adventure can let off steam to their heart’s content at the playground next to the Rigi Scheidegg mountain inn
