An audioguide for children and a free puzzle book are available at the ticket counter for the littlest explorers to take them on a journey of discovery through Switzerland’s history. They will learn about the numerous conflicts and compromises, life in the Middle Ages and the founding of the confederation. Of course, no history would be complete without myths. Where does the story of William Tell or the Rütlischwur come from? Exciting videos and pictures explain the significance of these myths for Switzerland.
The highlight of the exhibition is the famous Federal Charter of 1291, which has long been considered the foundation charter of the confederation.
