Hoch-Ybrig in Winter

When the lowlands are grey, Hoch-Ybrig is often above the sea of fog. Just an hour’s drive from Zurich, modern cable cars and lifts take you to sunny heights. Once at the top, it’s not just the distant views that lift the spirits. The winter sports region in the foothills of the Schwyz Alps is rightly regarded as a family classic.

50 kilometres of pistes offer skiing fun for all levels. In the children’s area in Oberiberg, with its magic lift, carousel and restaurant, the little ones can learn the basics before trying their first ‘sprint run’ in the Kabi-Park in Seebli. Then it’s off into increasingly challenging terrain. Along the way, there are cosy mountain restaurants and a family lounge for a break, as well as comfortable hotels and holiday apartments for a longer stay.

If you’re travelling without skis, you can explore the idyllic mountain scenery on foot, on cross-country skis or on toboggans.
