Filmpodium

If you were to ask Zurich residents to name a particularly attractive movie theater, before long the “Filmpodium” is sure to crop up.

The movie theater in the heart of the city is a real gem. Housed on the premises of the Studio 4 cinema, built in 1949, the Filmpodium has been showing themed series, retrospectives of classics, premieres of unconventional author’s films, and movies featuring live music since 1983. More than 350 movies flicker across screen each year.

The movie theater, which was built in the Bauhaus architectural style, was lovingly restored in 2003. It now offers 263 comfortable seats and state-of-the-art technology. At the bar in the foyer, guests are served both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as snacks and candy.
