In the region around Ricken, situated between Lake Zurich and Toggenburg, 24 kilometers (15 miles) of ski trails invite winter sports fans to engage in the classic and skating styles of cross-country skiing.

Ski Area
Ricken lies in an idyllic location at 800 meters (2,625 ft) above sea level, between Lake Zurich and the Alpine region of Toggenburg. It is a popular recreational area for nature-loving families and sports enthusiasts.
Trails
Skating, Red Trail
Cross-country skiers who favor the skating style will find a 14 km (9 mile) long trail leading over varied terrain. An additional 4 km (2.5 miles) long and flat inner loop is suitable for beginners.
Classic, Blue Trial
A 10 km (6 mile) long, varied trail is groomed for classic-style skiers. Here there are even a few gentle descents. It is also possible to shorten the route to 4 km (2.5 miles) or 6 km (3.75 miles).
Special Remarks
From Monday to Friday, between 5.30pm and 9.30pm, skiers can also train on a night trail. The floodlights are operated by the skiers themselves, but are automatically shut down at 9.30pm.
