Just south of Sihlcity shopping center, bikers of all ages balance, glide, freewheel and pump. The 5,500 m2 urban biking paradise Bike Park Allmend has families covered with five courses and three difficulty ratings. Adventurous older kids – and parents, too? – build momentum on the urban BMX lines, jump track and pump track, with waves, rollers and berms that connect safely for beginners, and larger ramps and dirt lines for progression.
Little riders, aged two and above, let loose on 20 cm-high waves and smooth training tracks with a special safety zone. Beginners making their pump track debut on bikes, scooters or balance bikes follow gentle lines to practise rolling smoothly over hills and berms.
With the adjacent freestyle skate park, the Allmend sports facility is one of the largest in Europe. Two rest areas have benches and a drinking fountain, and there are public conveniences at the skate park.
