Pop in the ball, give it a push – and your family walk is off to a rolling start. On the Ball Run Trail in Sulz and Rickenbach, every step turns into playful discovery. Kids race their balls past post buses. Parents help aim through tricky holes – and everyone listens for bells, clinks and the rattle as the ball runs through branches and nails into a blue “stream bed.”

Three stroller-friendly routes, from 1.7 und 5.5 km, link up 11 stations with 14 hand-built wooden ball runs, crafted from recycled materials by local schools, clubs, and businesses. Each one brings playful design and fun challenges. A grill spot, farm shops and restaurants along the way offer perfect breaks.

Tip: Not up for the whole route? Try one of the shorter village loops in Rickenbach (1.7 km, about 1 hour) or Sulz (5.5 km, about 1.5 hours). You can pick up a wooden bball for CHF 2 at the Volg shops in Sulz and Rickenbach.
