What do a fountain, a lamppost and a city park have in common? In Urban Golf, they become unexpected obstacles and targets. Armed with a club, a soft ball and a scorecard, families set off across Glarus, where historic squares and leafy parks are transformed into a quirky 10-hole course stretching nearly 3 kilometers.
Some shots call for finesse, sending the ball neatly around a corner. Others invite you to aim straight for a fountain and hope for the best. The soft ball travels only about a third as far as a regular golf ball, making the game easy to pick up – even for first-timers. The adventure begins at the Markthalle, where you can also collect the equipment. From there, it’s all about discovering the clever ideas behind each hole. No experience is needed – just a sense of fun, a little skill and a bit of luck. And even if you don’t finish with the lowest score, you’ll come away having seen a new side of Glarus.
