Experience Art and Culture

Zurich is a world city with a village feel that has much to offer. As a creative family we love finding inspiration in museums and other cultural sites.

A Typical Day Out

We go for a stroll by Lake Zurich, where we love to stop outside the Pavillon Le Corbusier and imagine we lived there. Sometimes we go inside, or just carry on, since Zurich is full of cultural offers. In our blog posts below, we tell you, which creative worlds we like to enter to get inspired and discover new things with all our senses.

Technorama Winterthur

“The last time we visited was a hot summer’s day where we were pleasantly surprised by a refreshing splash from the 5,000-liter waterfall. Exploring the new outdoor area with all five senses is worth your while.” (Marla)

WOW Museum

This place is a must for selfie fans and people who love taking surreal and original photos. “Make sure your phone is fully charged and you’ve got plenty of storage space.” (Marla)

Restaurant Kiosk am See

“Here, right by the lake, overlooking the water and the people relaxing and playing music – this is our favorite place to go for a coffee or something to eat.” (Rolf)

Pavillon Le Corbusier

Gina loves chatting about the Pavillon architecture with her grandma, who’s an architect. Rolf is still discovering new details on every visit, while Andrea loves the color palette Le Corbusier used to create the Pavillon.

Atelier Hermann Haller

“It’s really exciting to watch a major Swiss sculptor at work in his own studio. At least, that’s how it feels, even though he passed away a long time ago.” (Marla)

Restaurant Kornsilo

“We often stop to check out the family festival or theater sports at the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen cultural center. But our favorite thing is having breakfast at the Kornsilo, where you can enjoy croissants and jam all the way through to lunchtime on weekends.” (Gina)

Café Portier Winterthur

“In contrast to Zurich’s industrial sites, the Sulzer industrial site seems more authentic and less dandified. I really like that.” (Andrea)

Fotomuseum Winterthur

We each look for our favorite picture and explain what we like best about it. “Rolf loves the museum store most of all. He never comes home without a bag full of books and postcards.” (Andrea)
