Planet Trail – Hike from Uetliberg to Felsenegg

Description Route
The Planet Trail leads from the Uetliberg to Felsenegg. It shows the enormous distances in the solar system, with each meter of the path representing 1 million kilometers. This fascinating 2-hour hike takes you from the sun past the eight planets as far as the dwarf planet, Pluto.
Once you have arrived at Felsenegg, you can enjoy breathtaking views over Lake Zurich and the mountains in the distance.

The view from the Hotel Uto Kulm over the city of Zurich and Lake Zurich are simply stunning, and even if a visit to the hotel means taking a slight detour from the Planet Trail, it is well worth the effort.

Catering Facilities En Route
Directly at the beginning of the hike, planetologists of all ages can enjoy a bite to eat at the Restaurant Gmüetliberg directly at the station of the Uetliberg-Bahn or otherwise further up on the summit at the Hotel and Restaurant Uto Kulm. Those who prefer to hike first and eat later will find the Restaurant Felsenegg, complete with panoramic views extending as far as the Alps, at the end of their tour.
Guests with the Zürich Card travel for free on the Uetliberg and from Felsenegg back to Zurich.
