Youth Hostel Schaan-Vaduz

Sleep like royalty, no crown required? At the Schaan–Vaduz Youth Hostel, it’s easy. Set in a quiet, green spot between Schaan and Vaduz, the hostel is a great base for exploring all of Liechtenstein. Vaduz is just two bus stops away and the Räfis-Burgerau train station is about 3 km down the road. Families stay in functional four-bed rooms with private bathrooms, while groups can spread out in spacious dorm rooms with shared facilities.

In the morning, a breakfast buffet fuels the day, with vegan and gluten-free options included. Free Wi-Fi helps with planning adventures: cycling along the Rhine on rental bikes, heading to the slopes of Malbun or hopping on the bus to a museum in Vaduz. You could also spend the day at the Mühleholz lido or play a round of mini golf nearby. Packed lunches are available on request.

By late afternoon, families drift back to the hostel, gathering in the garden by the playground or soccer field. On rainy days, the common room fills with foosball matches and board games pulled from the game cupboard. Dinner is a highlight: on warm evenings, the grill fires up in the garden; when it’s cooler, everyone comes together at long wooden tables in the restaurant. There’s chatting, laughter and tips are exchanged – and by the end of the day, everyone heads to bed happily tired.
