Winter Hike Raten – Gottschalkenberg

High above the Aegeri Valley, with a little luck you can escape the fog that often fills the valleys in winter. On the Raten, an easy, family-friendly hike takes you from restaurant to restaurant and to beautiful vantage points.

If you want to start at a leisurely pace, stop off at the Raten Restaurant with its large sun terrace. Then follow the signposted winter hiking trail as it gently climbs, first across open fields and then through a short stretch of woodland over the Gottschalkenberg. On the other side is the next rest stop, but first you should visit the Bellevue lookout, which lives up to its name with panoramic views from the huts across Lake Zurich to Mount Säntis and the Central Swiss Alps.

Return by the same route and bring a sledge for the kids to make it more fun.
