A window into space: In the heart of the city center, young explorers and future astronomers can reach for the stars. Every first Saturday of the month, the Urania observatory hosts a guided tour especially for children. Children from the age of 6 (accompanied) learn how the 12-ton Zeiss telescope works and can observe celestial objects themselves when visibility is good.
During the visit, inquisitive eyes look through the 100-year-old telescope in the 50-meter-high round tower of the Urania observatory: lunar craters, distant galaxies or the cloud bands of Jupiter become a source of wonder when seen with a magnification of up to 600 times. A guided tour of the public observatory, which opened in 1907, is a special experience for young and old alike.
Guided tours for children take place every 1st Saturday of the month at 2, 3:30 pm and 5 pm
