With sweeping views of the Malbun mountains, families set off on a short uphill walk from the parking area to the Sücka mountain restaurant, boots crunching in the snow as the quiet valley spreads out below. At 1,400 meters above sea level, it’s time to hop on the sled: the groomed natural toboggan run winds for about one kilometer down to the alpine hamlet of Steg. The route is clear and gentle, making it a great pick for families and first-time night sledders.
When snow conditions allow, the run is floodlit daily from 5:00 to 10:00 pm, turning the descent into a magical evening ride. From Friday to Sunday, many visitors stop in for dinner before sledding. The cozy mountain restaurant is well known for its fondue.
Tip: Check in advance with the host of the mountain restaurant, if you are looking to rent sleds.
