“myclimate Audio Adventure Zurich” offers families a new way to explore the city. Walking or biking through familiar neighborhoods, they begin to notice what usually goes unseen. Beneath a bridge at Platzspitz, a heat pump draws energy from river water to provide heating. By the nearby viaduct, solar panels on old silos generate electricity and in the Niederdorf district, “yesterday’s bread” is sold instead of being thrown away. These everyday places become the backdrop for audio stories told at different levels: younger children aged five and up follow the “Lizard from Zurich Main Station,” older kids aged eleven and up set out with “Mia Wants to Know”, and adults explore topics such as river heat, biodiversity and new forms of urban living in their own audio tour. Here, climate action isn’t explained – it’s experienced as families move through Zurich on foot or by (rental) bike.
