With the “Glarus Cheese Pass” families enjoy a unique mountain experience, collect stamps and taste locally produced alpine cheese. Every summer a new issue is published that shows mountain lovers and cheese aficionados the way to 20 alpine pastures – or five to seven for families with kids. Every alp features a “Cheese Pass Stamp Box”. Who finds the box first? Put your stamp on your pass, get your picknick out and enjoy the pastures. Those who want to bring home a souvenir can buy the locally-produced delicacy directly on site. Once all the stamps have been collected, you can hand the card in at the valley station and get a piece of Glarus alp cheese as a thank you.
The ”Glarus Cheese Pass” is also a hiking map that brings you to the most beautiful spots in the Glarus mountains. The map offers some beautiful hiking routes, some of them can be connected and it also gives some great accommodation ideas en route. The “Glarus Cheese Pass” is published at the beginning of May and is made for the entire alpine hiking season from June to end of September.
