Magnifying glass? Check. Measuring tape? Check. Water wheel kit? Double check. Time to hit the discovery trail in Malbun, a 1.4 km-long route packed with adventure for curious kids. Ten interactive stations along the route offer hands-on fun: build, observe, play memory games on a stone table, or make music in the wild.
All the while, explorers learn fascinating facts about alpine plants and wildlife. The journey starts at the “Schlucher-Treff” at the village entrance. You can grab a fully equipped explorer’s backpack at the Malbun Center (deposit: CHF 40). The final reward? A cozy mountain lake called Sass-Seelein, complete with a “researcher’s throne” and a fire pit. The trail is open in winter too although access to some stations is limited. For this, a special map is available at the Malbun Center.
