Cross-Country Skiing in Einsiedeln
In the Schwedentritt area of in the famous abbey town of Einsiedeln, cross-country skiers can find some 23 kilometers (16 miles) of trails for everyone from beginners to experts.

Ski Area
Thanks to its impressive abbey, Einsiedeln is a well-known place of pilgrimage. In winter, the area around the picturesque village is transformed into a resplendent winter landscape. What’s more, directly next to the abbey, winter sports enthusiasts can find some wonderful cross-country ski trails.
Trails
Young and old, beginners and experts ‒ everyone can have fun on 25 kilometers (16 miles) of cross-country ski trails. The mostly flat trails are perfect for learning the art of cross-country skiing, but also for really letting off steam. The 3 km (2 mile), 9 km (5.5 mile) and 12 km (7.5 mile) routes are easy, while the 15 km (9.5 mile) and 21.1 km (13.1 mile) routes – the latter equivalent to a half-marathon – are rather more challenging.
Special Remarks
The view of the mountains of Canton Schwyz is absolutely stunning. In addition, a café and restaurant make sure that skiers never need to go hungry.
