Art Catch
Travel between the real and digital worlds – “Art Catch” uses augmented reality content to bring to life nine works of art in public spaces in Winterthur.

- 9 works of art
- Self-guided
- App to download
- Art education
In Winterthur, art does not only take place in museums. It is an integral part of the public space, where it is often used for other purposes as well. Max Bill’s pavilion sculpture, for example, is also a popular place to sit. The elliptical fountain troughs by Donald Judd also serve as paddling pools in summer.
The “Art Catch” digital tour offers unique on-site access to these and other works that are particularly well integrated into the city’s everyday life. Using augmented reality, nine works of art are brought to life in a sometimes playful, sometimes humorous, sometimes cheeky way. Suddenly a statue tells its own story or an object invites you to recreate it. The pace and the art objects can be determined individually. Simply download the “artverse” app and “capture” works of art. And if you want to discover everything in one day, hop on your bike.
