A Typical Day Out

On a hike, a bike, or a paddle steamer: An excursion around Lake Zurich is always a highlight for our family. From the impressive Rapperswil Castle through beautiful Lützelsee lake to Bächlihof farm Jona – in our posts below we share everything we discovered on our expedition through nature.

Lützelsee Lake

You’re walking in the woods and then suddenly, there it is – just as it would have been centuries ago. The swimming baths aren’t quite as old. But otherwise: it’s absolutely pristine.

The old, deep well really seems to stem from the “Frog Prince”. And further down in the ravine, we admire the beautiful waterfall where Fabio discovers petrified moss on its edges.

Meilen to Rapperswil Panorama Trail

We enjoy the incredible views of Lake Zurich on foot or by bike. You’ll find a little calf mooing or a young goat bleating here and there along the way. It’s always worth the trip.

Bächlihof Jona

At the farm, we like to have a bite to eat or buy fruit and homemade produce. The fall pumpkin show is a stunning sight – not just for the kids.

Wooden Bridge Rapperswil

“You see all kinds of birds and ducks here and plenty of big fish – all with the incredible backdrop of Rapperswil Castle. Next time, we’re coming at full moon – I bet it looks really mystical.” (Andy)
