Adventure Cruise on Lake Zug

Solve puzzles, discover, and marvel: A family adventure on Lake Zug with the little witch, Aloisa, a treasure hunt, ice cream and a lot of fun on the playground. An experience that makes the kid’s hearts leap for joy.

When people think about cruises, the images that come to mind are usually beautiful views, leisurely moments, and indulgence. But on the Adventure Ship, it’s all about getting active as children explore the ship while solving puzzles. When I told my kids about our next day out they were incredibly excited. After all, there’s so much to discover, puzzle over, and experience on the Adventure Ship.

On the way there, we enjoyed a relaxing train ride from Zurich to Zug. Once we’d arrived, it took just five minutes to walk to the harbor. While we waited to board, the children played by the water, watched the ducks, and admired the beautiful ship docked in the harbor – time for the adventure to begin!

Puzzle book, ice cream, and an Adventure Ship

On board the ship, we were given a warm welcome and received our puzzle book all about the water witch Aloisa, along with a pencil. But before we got started with the puzzles on the discovery tour, we indulged in some delicious treats at our reserved table: I enjoyed an iced coffee, while the children devoured their ice cream with donut, eyes shining with joy.

Nine puzzle stations and an enchanting witch

Refreshed and refueled, we set out to discover the nine puzzle stations around the ship. The tasks were varied and a lot of fun. We found our way through labyrinths, did sums, counted fish, and found a new letter for the final answer word with every task we completed.

On our cruise, we also met the little witch Aloisa, who taught us a couple of magic tricks. It was so much fun for all of us – we went up and down, out on deck and inside again, until we had found all the answers and knew what the word was. Back at reception, we showed our answer and, yes: we had cracked the code!

Treasure trove as the grand finale

As a reward, we were allowed to open the secret treasure chest. The children were each allowed to choose a gift – from bubbles to little toys, there was all sorts to choose from. It was a wonderful end to a successful family adventure.

Fun and games after the boat trip

After our thrilling adventure on Lake Zug, the day wasn’t quite over yet. Just a few minutes’ walk from the harbor, another highlight awaited: Siehbach playground. There, my little ones let off more steam and also discovered a basketball court and a pump track – we’ll definitely come back!

On the train ride home, the kids fell asleep exhausted but happy, so I could relax a little after an adventure-filled day.

Our conclusion

The Adventure Ship on Lake Zug is a brilliantly successful experience for families, full of excitement, fun, and magical moments. The 2.5 hours on board flew by, and the best part was that there wasn’t a single minute of boredom. The children were thrilled that they could explore the whole ship on their own terms while solving tricky puzzles.
